Dessen neustes Album war letzte Woche ‘Album of the Week‘ bei Boomkat. Vielleicht ja zu Recht eines der besseren ‘Home Listening’ (?) Alben des Jahres erschienen bei Erased Tapes. Ich will mir ja nicht anmaßen, irgendwas gut oder schlecht zu finden…
Arnalds Musik und deren optische Übermalung von Rami Lob passt vor allen Dingen überhaupt nicht zum heutigen Wocheendstress-Partybummbumm-Start. Und deshalb passt es aber eigentlich auch gerade hier und jetzt.
Will Thomas Long und Danielle Baquet-Long bildeten zusammen das Ambient Projekt ‘Celer’ und veröffentlichten in den letzten Jahren einige dutzend CDR Releases auf verschiedensten kleinen Indielabels.
Danielle ist in der Nacht zum 8. Juli leider nicht mehr aufgewacht und im Alter von nur 26 Jahren verstorben.

Eigentlich tritt ‘Column One’ nur alle paar Jahre mal in Berlin auf.
Somit eigentlich ja ein Muss…

I followed Wim Maesschalck from Belgium with his music project ‘Wixel’ for several years now. I’d describe the music as Ambient, Acoustic Indie, tho i’m not very good in categorizing musical genres as they often use to overlap anyway.
So, after two full-length albums Wim’s new project has some different approach.
He’s trying to release twelve albums in 2009, one album a month, each one spinning around a theme, that i’d say has some reference to the actual season or mood.
While the January and February album were more droney, instrumental albums, the third one for March even has vocals added to. Hard to find a fitting comparison, as i’m not good in that too, but let’s say, Sigur Ros might come to your mind (to mine at least).
